To Potential Clients of Jim Price:

This letter of recommendation should be considered the highest praise for the design and construction that Jim Price represents.

He has impeccable taste, high standards and an admirable work ethic.  His sense of responsibility to complete the job efficiently and with grace was a pleasure to encounter.

We are experienced home renovators and home builders, having planned and completed several major projects over the years. When we moved to San Francisco our real estate agent helped us to find Jim, and we were not disappointed.  We have been so happy in our renovated house in the Marina district of San Francisco, and Jim is completely responsible for this.

Please let us know if you would like to speak with us, or come and see his workmanship. We give him the highest marks.

Sincerely,

Donna P. Hall & B. Michael Silber

Jim and I have worked together on several remodeling projects over the past many years. Jim has been a fabulous resource in terms of the detailed architectural designs and assistance with the finishes and general interior design concepts. With Jim you barely need an architect and you certainly don’t need an interior designer. His kitchens and bathrooms are a delight to actually use and his vision is comprehensive and really stylish.    In addition, of course, Jim is a thorough and detail-oriented general contractor with some fabulous subcontractors at his disposal and a great work ethic and customer-service approach. Jim will meet with you at the drop of the hat on evenings and weekends if that suits your schedule and you always get the feeling that he really cares.   Feel free to call me about Jim any time. I am always going to say really nice things. If I had to voice a criticism it would be to say that Jim has an eye for the finer, more tasteful approach and that means he isn’t always low-budget. However, if asked to go in that direction he does his very best.

Recommendations:

Jim Price Construction did a spectacular job with extensive exterior structural remodeling and restoration on our pre-earthquake multi-unit Victorian residential property.  In addition, the company has handled a range of interior work in individual apartments at the property.  Renovation of our 100-year plus property was required from bottom to top, including roof, exterior stairs and balconies, windows, painting and restoration of the original beautiful architectural elements from the Victorian period.  From start to finish at each stage—from design, to estimates, permits, through the months of work to completion—we were satisfied beyond our expectations.  Jim Price consistently provided extra care in scheduling, tenant communication, supervision of workers, quality of work and attention to detail.  The work was brought in on time and on budget, and the quality is so outstanding that neighbors and visitors regularly ask who performed the transformation of our property.  We recommend Jim Price Construction highly.

A small cottage in Pacific Heights is saved from destruction:

2006

Smothered in stucco, and lacking a foundation, this 1860's San Francisco house was intended to be raised and replaced.  A determined client asked: what can we do with this place?

We lifted the house to add a two car garage on the garden level, added 1000 s.f. without altering the footprint, completely redesigned the interior to have three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, a dynamic kitchen/great room, restored the façade, and kept the original front door.  All the interior finishes are what would be expected for viewing the exterior with a walnut staircase, abundant moldings, hardwood floors, and all modern conveniences integrated harmoniously to perfection.  This house was sold before is was completed.  The current owner is also a repeat client, customizing a bedroom into a Maplewood office and adding further refinements.
